During graduate school, I used quasi-experimental studies to examine the proposed mechanisms of social support between parental attachment styles and socialization of coping skills and different mental health outcomes (Szkody & McKinney, 2019; Szkody et al., 2020). For the study, we asked participants about their relationships with their family and their mental health before asking them to participate in Cyberball to see how these factors were associated with coping during the task.
