Social Responsiveness in Health Service Psychology Education and Training Toolkit

In 2020, the Council of Chairs of Training Councils (CCTC) met virtually to create an expansive toolkit designed to help the Health Service Training community address issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion at every level of the training process. As a student representative from the Council of Directors of Clinical Psychology, I attended their 2020 conference and was a part of the Lifelong Learning committee. Our committee focused on ways in which individuals can continue to learn about, and engage in, social responsiveness over the course of their lifetimes. We recognized that the core features of successful lifelong learning include the creation of a continued dialogue with others on topics of diversity and continued self-reflection. Therefore, the lifelong learning section of this toolkit includes resources for having difficult conversations, how to repair those conversations when they do not go as planned, how to set up a culture of communication, and a roadmap for self-reflection. This toolkit includes worksheets, checklists, guidelines, and much more that can help educators at all levels address diversity associated issues in the health service psychology training programs.

The toolkit is free to use and distribute. Check it out for some great resources!
